The Prophets Pen

  How holy are you Father and how wonderful are your expressions of love and compassion to all those who trust in you. I pray that you will bring a new awareness to your people. Lord we have come to a day when the cross of Jesus Christ and all it stands for has become largely irrelevant to our modern space age church. We no longer see the need to travail in prayer before the throne of God we have purchased so and so's book which gives us all we need.

  We can take a class and learn how to be a prophet in a matter of weeks completely ignoring that the word tells us prophets are friends of God. A true prophet is a seeker after God and longs for an intimate relationship with him.. You cannot be a prophet any other way but to lay down your life that he might flow through you. The cross of Christ is the great dividing line Jesus died on the cross to open the gates of heaven to each of us.

   Jesus told us we must take up our cross daily and follow him. There is no room for human ambition here. There is no room for selfish pride and spiritual arrogance here. The word tells us do all prophesy? He could have added shall all see visions and heavenly places? No before the gates of heavens glory shall be opened to anyone we must show the fruits of true repentance by laying down our lives daily in complete servitude to him. We seek him to know him and the Lord tells us in his word that only the holy shall see God. Anything less than that is either shallow at best or demonic at worst.

  Father is not nearly as concerned with our spiritual gifts as he is with our hearts. The word said holy men of God wrote as they were moved upon by the Holy Spirit in the writing of the Bible. None of us including your humble writer here is perfect. We all fall short but the truly righteous live in an attitude of continual awareness of our shortcomings and take up our cross daily to follow him.
