Federal government's 'issue' is Americans' religious freedom

By Charlie Butts

A constitutional attorney predicts a fight for religious freedom if the US. Supreme Court finds a constitutional right to same-gender "marriage" in June.

Which words from our Founding Fathers are the best warning about the Supreme Court and natural marriage?

Michael Farris, chancellor at Patrick Henry College, points to oral arguments made last month, when Justice Samuel Alito compared the Bob Jones University court case to homosexual "marriage." The university, which had banned interracial dating, lost its argument of religious freedom in the 1983 case.
In the oral arguments, Alito asked Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli, Jr. if religious colleges risk losing their tax-exempt status if same-sex "marriage" is recognized by the Court.
"I don't deny that," Verilli replied. "It is going to be an issue."
Farris responds to that admittance: "The Solicitor General of the United States, who's the highest legal officer that represents the federal government before the Supreme Court, admitted that that was the likely outcome if they rule for same-sex marriage as he was advocating."
Farris says the admission was pretty bold, observing that it shows the federal government is confident with its legal case.
The college chancellor also observes that it shows the federal government intends to go after Patrick Henry College and other education institutions, and churches.
Farris
"And anybody else that refuses to bend the knee to the false gods that we're looking at," he tells OneNewsNow.
In a Fox News story about the exchange, a spokesman for the Family Research Council also predicted that Verilli's logic would extend to churches and to individuals, too.
Farris wrote an op-ed for USA Today about the exchange, writing in part:
As for other colleges, I cannot answer. But at Patrick Henry College we would egregiously deny our namesake's legacy, if we did not stand forthrightly for Christ and for liberty no matter what the cost.
Christians must fight back, says Farris, by dismantling the excesses of power in Washington, DC.
