Road to the City

By Michael Plemmons

In the past few months the Lord has opened a doorway for me and I have frequently found myself caught up in heavenly  places. Like yesterday, today I am walking on the road which leads to the city of God. I am not alone for as we get closer and closer to the city, the size of the crowds are growing. As I looked around at the faces of my fellow travelers all wore expressions of what I would call joyful anticipation.

As I continued to peruse the crowd of people making their way to the city, I spotted someone standing by the side of the road waiting for me. My spirit was filled with joy when I recognized it was Moses both a mentor and a friend. As I drew abreast of him he and I fell in step together and he began to speak to me as we walked.

"Michael today as you understand time begins a new phase of your walk with the Lord." He took my arm and drew me to one side and I could tell he was looking very intently at the crowd as they passed us by. His face wore an expression of great intensity and his eyes displayed great affection and tenderness for our fellow travelers as they slowly passed us by.

He said, "Michael you and all of these blessed of the Father have been brought here numerous times in  the past. You and they have had wonderful experiences with the Father and Son. They like you my son are living breathing individuals in the earth and each of you shall be witnesses for the Father in the dark days ahead."

He said those last words with a voice choked with emotion. I turned to face him and this most gentle spiritual giant had an expression of love and compassion on his face. His eyes welled up with tears that fell from his eyes, each tear drop a living testimony to the kindness of his heart.

Having regained his composure he continued. "Each of you called here today are being called up to a higher level of sacrifice and consecration. Those who would walk in the glory must shed all pretensions of earthly pride and ambition. As the master said it is true that the greatest among you must be the servant of all."

He turned from looking at the crowds and faced me. He put both of his arms  on each of my shoulders  and pulled me close until our faces were only inches apart. Then in a voice barely above a whisper he continued to speak to me.

"Michael my son the greatest servants of all are those called to lay down their lives that they might minster to Father. You may well ask how can we mere mortals offer anything that would be considered ministering to God.

A small smile creased his face as he turned to face the crowd passing by once more. He took his left hand and waved it over  the crowd of souls passing by while his right arm was intertwined with mine.

"These souls have made a determination to lay down their lives in service to Father and will walk in obedience to his will and shall be a witness to the whole world of Fathers great power and authority. They do not long to be considered great anointed servants of God, but rather will lay down their lives for the hurting ones all around them.

My son these here assembled are many like you. They are called from many nations and peoples all over the world. They like you my son were born for such a time as this and shall have a part in this end time ministry Father has reserved for this hour".

Once more we began to walk drawing ever closer to the city and Moses continued to teach me as we walked.  "It has been both my joy and my sorrow to be a witness of the events of this hour. I walk with you with joy at what this hour represents.  Yet my spirit is grieved for my people Israel for they shall suffer many things and be deceived by the prince of hell that has yet to appear but shall soon make his appearance and go forth to deceive the whole world."

Moses and I as well as all the others began to ascend a hill that when we reached the top revealed a panoramic view of the valley below. Behind was the forest and garden of God. Down in the valley below in all its breath taking glory stood the city of God. Its massive walls and gates are beyond desorption.  I could also see the mountain of his glory rising up into the clouds at the center of the city.

I as always was moved by the city of God and standing there I could see a great multitude of Gods servants making their way down the hill and into the city coming from every direction. I had an inner witness of the Spirit that we had all been brought here for a special purpose.  Seeing them my Spirit was moved and yet I cannot understand at present why i feel this connection, and neither can I explain what it all means. Moses ended my reverie by starting down the ridge and we with all the others began to make our way to the entrance into the city awash in our resolute determination to be of service to our Father.
