The price of the call

By Michael Plemmons

One never knows, even as a prophet, when a vision is going to occur. It had been a couple of months since my last experience. Moses story of his life and how in the pride of his youth he killed an Egyptian and then had to flee Egypt for his life was sobering. I had read his story in the word but hearing him tell it with the passion of his heart exposed was an experience I would never forget. Then when I least expected it I was caught up in the Spirit.

I found myself standing at the foot of the mountain of God. It is truly one of the great sights one can ever see. Its height goes high into the clouds and it today is rumbling with the power and glory of God.

Two great men of God accompany me. One is if I can be so bold is my friend Moses, and the other is someone I have never met Joshua.

Where Moses has this almost regal bearing and tenderness of heart, Joshua has the look of a man of war; an experienced soldier who has fought and led men in battle in numerous campaigns against the enemies of God.

We are sitting on the ground and there is a stream of water flowing from the mountain of God right in front of us. I find myself in a strong spiritual sense attracted to these wise experienced men of God. I know they have a divine purpose in being here with me and my spirit is hungry to receive what they have to say.

These two are very comfortable with each other and there was a great deal of unspoken affection that could be felt between them. Joshua was an experienced leader and had a great deal of wisdom to impart, but it was also obvious that in the presence of Moses he was deferential and submissive. Although I had known Moses only a short time one could see in Joshua’s eyes the same love and respect for Moses that I also felt.

Moses was gazing in the distance his eyes reflecting that his mind was in a deep concentration. I am still mesmerized by his eyes. Some one once said that the eyes are the windows of the soul this was certainly true of Moses. His eyes reflect a gentleness of nature, and yet a strength of character and wisdom that would almost be intimidating coming from anyone else. Both Joshua and I were sitting across from Moses in quiet anticipation of what he was about to say.

Moses turned his attention toward us and looked first from Joshua to me.

He smiled and said “It is good to be with you both today. I begin anew this day the task that our Lord gave me all those years ago. I knew that Joshua was chosen by God to be my successor and he was destined to lead the people to the Promised Land. Michael Joshua is here today to bear witness to the things I have to impart to you, and as it was in the days of old it is today.

Down through the centuries it has been my holy duty to impart to those selected by Father the wisdom and understanding he has given me. I have before me my beloved Joshua a vessel used mightily of God in the days of old, and you Michael called of God to be a vessel of power and spiritual authority in these last days.

Michael to be chosen of the Lord to do the work he has for you is not an easy thing. Satan also knows the chosen of God and as you well know he has been a relentless foe of yours all of your life. Both Joshua and I were chosen of God in our day to both lead our people from bondage and slavery in Egypt to a new land of milk and honey promised us by the Lord.

Yet the journey from slavery to Canaan was a long and perilous one. To be a leader we were often misunderstood, had to endure the petty jealousies of men, and always bore the weight of responsibility for the lives of so many souls God had placed in our care. It is not a thing to be sought for lightly and yet God had been preparing us for this all our lives.”

Moses then sighed and looked deep in my eyes as if he was looking deep into my soul and also contemplating his next words carefully.

“Michael this generation of the body of Christ is about to enter a time of unprecedented darkness and evil. Satan knows he has but a short time left and Father is looking for leaders who will set their hearts like a flint and be a voice of power, comfort, and obedience in the midst of worldwide chaos.

Both Joshua and I led our people to the promised land in the midst of great chaos and many times great uncertainty. I was confused and distraught when Pharaoh instead of letting our people go instead made there lives harder. Yet in the midst of it all I never doubted the call and plan of God for our people and his anointing on my life.

Michael in the days ahead as the vision of Gods calling on your life becomes clear you to shall be faced with decisions and times of great power and anointing followed by times of trial.

Yes the Lord used me by faith to part the Red Sea and lead our people through it on dry ground. Yet once on the other side we found that I had led them through the sea right into the desert. What followed were times of hunger and thirst. So it will be with you, take time to reflect on that price you pay to walk out that which God has called you to.”

With this the vision ended and I found myself alone on my face before the Lord. I could see a pattern developing in the visions I had seen up to this point. In the first vision I had been shown to seek the heart of God and not just his power.

In the second he had caught me up into the cave of rest for a time of reflection. I must seek him for his heart, but learn to rest in him to get there.

Thirdly I had met Moses and in the three visions that followed he told me of the dangers of pride and once more to seek God for his will. Finally today I realized there was to be a price to pay to walk in that which he is calling me to. Moses told me to take time to reflect on the price I would have to pay to walk out God’s plan for my life.

I have determined in my heart to seek him with a greater determination than before. Yet I am mindful of the lessons Moses has taught me.
