America In Crisis Part Twelve
America and the world are both facing their most critical hours. Decisions that we as a people choose to make shall carry with them eternal consequences. I began to seek the face of God for my country. I began to intercede for America and search the scriptures in search for the answer to one overriding question. When does God bring judgment on a nation? In searching the scriptures I believe I discovered some disturbing evidence that would seem to indicate that many of the trends rippling through our society may very well be judgment from God.
God brought ten distinct judgments on the nation of Egypt during the time of the Exodus. Moses gives us an account of this in Holy Scripture. I have in the preceding essays laid out my case that in my mind at least, seems to indicate America is suffering the judgment of Almighty God. Yet as we examine the record in Exodus we must open our hearts to the central truth that gives us one and all hope as the world and the United States enters it most critical hour.
God told Israel to do four things and in the doing they would find the salvation and deliverance of God in the midst of judgment on the nation of Egypt as a whole. God gave instructions that each home was to sacrifice a lamb and put the blood around the doorframe of the house.
They are to take some of the blood and smear it on the sides and top of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the animal. (Exodus 12:7 NLT)
When we accept Jesus in our hearts as Lord and Savior he washes us clean from every sin by the blood he shed on Calvary. On that night thousands of years ago the death angel entered the land of Egypt. He made no distinction between Jew or Egyptian. He was looking only for one thing the blood on the door. So in the dark days ahead it will be the blood of Jesus Christ applied to your heart that will cause the angels of judgment sent out in this hour to pass over you. Find time to spend with God. Daily make a total commitment of your heart and life to him. In so doing you will be kept safe in the days ahead.
Finally they were to eat the lamb in haste.
These are your instructions for eating this meal: Be fully dressed,[a] wear your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for this is the LORD’s Passover. (Exodus 12:11 NLT)
The darker and more intense the judgment and hand of God came upon the Egyptians the closer they knew their day of deliverance from slavery had come. They were to eat the Passover meal in haste, fully clothed with all their possessions packed and ready to go. So in this hour we must live as if at any moment the Lord shall return to take his people home. No matter what one’s position on the rapture of the church may be, he will feed, clothe, and take care of his own. Until such time when in the divine providence of God he will send his son for us.
. So saint of God begin to excise yourself from the beggarly elements of this world. Like the children of Israel on that blessed night of Passover so long ago, live your lives in anticipation of the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ for his own. Seek those things that are above and in the light of that divine revelation he shall sustain you. He shall also prepare you for that grand day of deliverance that believers all over the world have longed for ever since Paul first penned the message of the blessed hope.
