The Cave Of Rest

I have been privilaged over the last several years to have had numerous visions whereby the Lord has imparted to me revelation. I have kept a record of these experiences and I shall list them by the date I recieved them.

August 27th, 2007

I have been caught up in the Spirit and I find myself in a small cave, high up on a mountain. It is a small cave as caves go, about the size of a small den. Looking around the cave I can see a fire burning in the center, and looking up I see a hole in the ceiling of the cave through which the smoke is escaping. There is a stack of firewood in the corner and a cot on one wall. Out side a gentle rain is falling but the cave is warm, and the ceiling and walls exude a red glow, which warms my heart.

I could not help but smile as God had been preparing me for weeks now for this. He had instructed me to purify myself in preparation for this. This cave is alive with the presence and anointing of God. I turned and looked out the entrance of the cave, and became entranced as I silently watched the rain coming down. Looking closely I could detect no path to or from this cave, it was just a hole in the side of the mountain, with a sheer cliff dropping off below me.

Down below me was a forest as far as the eye could see. My heart has been enveloped with such a sense of peace and serenity. Turning I went back to the cot and laid down. Looking up as the smoke from the fire disappeared in the hole in the ceiling above, I could feel a draft of fresh air gently caress my face. Closing my eyes I began to reflect on what was happening. I could not help but wonder what this was all about.

Standing to my feet I walked over to the firewood stacked in the corner and carefully placed some on the fire. Shadows of the flames magnified many times began to dance on the far wall of the cave. Laying back down I turned my attention to the gentle rain falling outside. In my minds eye I could see the forest down below being gently caressed by the falling rain. I turned over on my back. The ceiling was a cheery red and my mind was soon lost deep in thought.

Why was I brought here and what is the spiritual significance of this place. Why the fire and what is the significance of the rain? Although peaceful there is a strong anointed presence of Father in this room. I was suddenly made aware that the reason I was here was to rest and wait on God. I felt in my heart the Spirit was whispering do not try to spiritualize this too much just be at peace. I know this is a mountain of God and my heart burns for a new revelation of him in my heart. . So I am quite content to wonder around my little room, put more wood on the fire, and rest on my cot looking dreamily at the red glow of the ceiling, or looking at the rain come down just outside the cave. I believe part of the reason I am here is for reflection. . I pray that the transformation that I know is beginning in my life will open up my heart and that I may be accounted worthy to receive and be whatever it is God’s will for me to be.

America In Crisis Part One

March 31st, 2010

A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
(Proverbs 22:3 NLT)

We are living in unprecedented times. America and the world around us are facing challenges any one of which holds the possibility of global destruction. America as the world’s foremost superpower as never before is being put into the crucible by world events and the choices we make will determine our course and our fate. It is my opinion that America’s greatest problems have been brought on by the deliberate choices of both our leaders and our people to forsake the God of our Fathers.

The problems facing our nation are unparalleled in our history. I must confess that the agonies our nation is undergoing in this hour drove me to my knees in prayer in a desperate search for the answer to one question. When does God bring judgment on a nation? We must ask ourselves more to the point is America simply undergoing an economic crisis, or can we see the hand of God in judgment being extended in this hour?

I felt the Holy Spirit brought to my heart an understanding that by looking into the judgments that God brought on the nations and peoples of the past I would find my answer. In conducting my search I found an amazing parallel in the judgments he brought on the nation of Egypt as shown in the book of Exodus and that which America is dealing with in our day. This devotion is but the first in a series as we examine the evidence from the past, which I believe, gives us a revelation of what we can expect in the days ahead.

In that day the nation of Israel was living as slaves in the land of Egypt. The Egypt of that day like America in our day could have been rightly considered the foremost superpower on earth. God sent Moses to Egypt with a simple message of warning and God has sent messenger after messenger to the people of our nation. Like the Egypt of that day in the arrogance of pride and rebellion our national leaders and our people by and large have turned their back on the message.

It is not my point at this time to enter into a discussion of the sins of America but rather to point with I believe with a biblical clarity to the Egypt of that day as a roadmap to what we see occurring in our day.
God brought ten judgments on the land of Egypt in that day. One by one as we examine them we shall see the hand of God at work in our own. The Bible speaks clearly and definitively in both the old and new testaments that God has and does bring judgment on a nation.

When can judgment be expected and have we in America today crossed the line and by so doing found ourselves undergoing the judgment of God?
God sent Moses a simple shepherd, a man eighty years of age, to Pharaoh with a simple message, let my people go. We read of this meeting in Exodus chapter 5 verses 1 and 2.

“1 After this presentation to Israel’s leaders, Moses and Aaron went and spoke to Pharaoh. They told him, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Let my people go so they may hold a festival in my honor in the wilderness.”
2 “Is that so?” retorted Pharaoh. “And who is the Lord? Why should I listen to him and let Israel go? I don’t know the Lord, and I will not let Israel go.”
- As Pharaoh in Moses day so the political leadership in our day by words and deeds is thrusting their fist in the face of almighty God and asking this very same question. Who is the Lord that we should obey him? We have seen this nation transformed in a few short years from a Christian nation to a secular one. All the landmarks of decency and morality are being swept away in our day. To turn one’s back on the one true God as our people have done brings tragic consequences, as the land of Egypt in that day was to discover.

I love this nation and all it has stood for. American has been a beacon of hope to countless millions around the globe of decency and freedom. Yet I fear if we as a people do not return to the God of our Father’s in a national outpouring of repentance the dark days of the present are as Egypt discovered long ago but a prelude to darker days yet ahead.

Wisdom The Voice Of The Holy Spirit

March 30th, 2010

Proverbs 8:1-3- 1 Listen as Wisdom calls out!
Hear as understanding raises her voice!
2 On the hilltop along the road,
she takes her stand at the crossroads.
3 By the gates at the entrance to the town,
on the road leading in, she cries aloud,

I am starting a new work as of today that I am titling reflections of a seer. These shall be short essays designed to uplift your hearts and understanding. I have been walking in the spiritual realm with God now for almost twenty years. As of late I have been chronicling theses experiences and sending them out. A son’s transformation shall continue as long as the Lord continues to open this door to me.

Reflections of a seer shall be my attempt to take the revelation that I have been given and put it in practical terms. I believe Proverbs chapter 8 is one of the rare places I have found where the Holy Spirit speaks to us in the first person. In our day to day lives it has never been more vital that we hear the voice of the Holy Spirit clearly. We are living in troubling, bewildering times. So many voices are crying out to us in our modern world.

God is speaking to us through the Holy Spirit. As this passage reveals to us wisdom is the voice of understanding. Wisdom is one of the names of the seven Spirits of God who stand before God and his throne. The book of revelation mentions the seven Spirits of God as seven torches in Revelation chapter four verses four through six. I have learned a great deal about the operation of the Holy Spirit in the past few years.

Today I want to capture the relevance to all of our lives of the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit. The writer of Proverbs entreats us to listen as the voice of wisdom cries out. In other words God is speaking to us! He hungers to feed our hearts with understanding.
He is speaking but we must be in tune with him. In other words it is our task as believers in Christ to hear his voice, and follow his direction. On the hilltop and along the road, at the crossroads, and by the gates to the entrance to town the Spirit of God may be found. In other words where ever people may be found the Spirit of God in wisdom shall be found.

The voice of wisdom is a clarion call of God and as God he has understanding. He and he alone can give us the understanding we all need in our day-to-day lives! Take time today to open your heart to the Holy Spirit and specifically listen to the voice of wisdom. The wisdom of God is a divine repository, a treasure trove of divine glory open to the hearts of each and every believer.
